With the aim of establishing institutional cooperation and joint action on the educational and social level, the “Privredna akademija” University of Brčko District of BiH and the Municipality of Donji Žabar signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The Memorandum was signed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Donji Žabar, Mr. Pero Pavlović, and the Rector of the “Privredna akademija” University, Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić. By signing this document, both parties agreed to work together on the promotion of education, professional development, the realization of projects of importance to the local community, and the creation of an environment that contributes to the retention and development of young people in the region. The focus of the cooperation will also be on creating joint activities that connect local government and higher education, with the aim of raising the level of knowledge and competencies of citizens, especially young people. “For the University, this is another significant step in connecting with local communities, because we believe that without mutual cooperation between educational institutions and local authorities, there is no real development of either education or society as a whole,” pointed out Rector Petrić. Mayor Pavlović expressed his satisfaction with the reached agreement: “This cooperation will open space for young people from our municipality to get educated, improve, and prepare for the labor market. We believe that knowledge is the best tool for progress, and this memorandum is a confirmation that we are moving in that direction together.” With this agreement, the “Privredna akademija” University once again confirms its commitment to expanding its network of partnerships and working on the development of the educational system in cooperation with relevant actors in society.
