Brčko – The sports and recreational association “Olympic Kids” from the Brčko District and the University “Privredna akademija” Brčko have signed a memorandum of cooperation, which lays the foundation for improving the practical training and professional development of students of sports pedagogy, sports coaches, and related fields.

The document was ceremonially signed by Dražen Mihajlović, founder and representative of “Olympic Kids”, and Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić, Rector of the University “Privredna akademija”. The goal of the cooperation is to provide students with access to real working conditions in sports and recreational centers, thereby promoting the connection of theoretical knowledge with practical experience.

Prof. Dr. Željko Petrić explained:
“Through this cooperation, our students get the opportunity to complete internships within the sports programs and activities of the ‘Olympic Kids’ association and gain valuable experience in the fields of sports, recreation, and working with children and youth.”

Dražen Mihajlović emphasized the importance of involving young professionals in sports and recreational programs:
“Our doors are open to all young people who want to develop themselves athletically and pedagogically. Students learn from experts, work in a team, and participate in the organization of sports activities and events, which directly prepares them for future professional challenges in the sports and recreation sector.”

The memorandum also provides for the joint implementation of professional workshops, educational programs, sports camps, and other forms of extracurricular learning, including the active involvement of coaches and experts from “Olympic Kids” in the teaching and extracurricular process of the University.

This cooperation represents a significant step towards improving the quality of education in the field of sports pedagogy and sports and promotes stronger networking between the academic sector and sports practice in the Brčko District of BiH.
