Students from the Safety study program of the Technical Faculty of the University "Privredna akademija" Brčko District BiH recently visited the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant. This visit was extremely significant for the students, as it allowed them to gain practical experience and insight into the operation of one of the most important energy facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special focus on occupational safety.
During the visit, students learned about the rigorous safety protocols applied at the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant. Special attention was paid to occupational safety measures, which are crucial for ensuring the safety of workers in such a complex and potentially dangerous environment. The students had the opportunity to see how regular safety checks are carried out and how protective equipment and tools are used.
One of the most important aspects of the visit was the focus on worker training and regular equipment checks. The students learned how inspections and equipment maintenance are carried out, and how it is ensured that all workers are trained to respond correctly in case of an accident. They also had the opportunity to talk to engineers and experts working at the thermal power plant, and learn more about the challenges they face in their daily work.
This visit was extremely useful for the students, as it allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of occupational safety. The practical experience they gained during the visit to the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant will help them better prepare for future challenges in their careers, especially in areas that require high safety standards.
The University "Privredna akademija" Brčko District BiH strives to provide its students with as many such opportunities as possible to enable them to gain practical experience and specific skills that are crucial for their future careers. Visits of this type are key to the development of young professionals and their preparation for work in a real industrial environment.
We hope that such visits will become a regular practice and that students will continue to have the opportunity to learn about the work of various industrial facilities and companies, and that this will help them become successful professionals in their fields, especially in terms of occupational safety.
